Retail Stock
Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”The Retail Stock page is where you manage retail inventory inside Diversdesk.
Use this page to:
- create and maintain retail products
- track what is currently in stock
- prepare products for webshop sales and over-the-counter sales
- keep your retail catalog aligned with what you can actually sell
This page is different from Rental Items. Rental items are gear you assign and reuse operationally, while retail stock is inventory that is sold to customers.
How Retail Stock Fits Into The Retail Module
Section titled “How Retail Stock Fits Into The Retail Module”The retail module supports three closely connected tasks:
- building your retail catalog
- managing stock levels
- selling products through the webshop or directly on site
In most cases, product setup begins with defining the item itself, its price, and its stock level. Once that is in place, the product can also be exposed through the retail webshop flow.
Typical Use Cases
Section titled “Typical Use Cases”You will usually come to this page when you want to:
- add a new retail item
- update stock after a delivery, correction, or sale
- check whether a product is still available
- keep online and in-person product availability aligned
Practical Notes
Section titled “Practical Notes”- Use clear product names so staff can find items quickly.
- Keep stock levels updated to avoid selling unavailable products.
- Review how retail products appear in Retail POS > Webshop if the item should also be available online.
